Compact Hermitian operators on projective tensor products of Banach algebras
Let U and V be, respectively, an infinite- and a finite-dimensional complex Banach algebras, and let U⊗pV be their projective tensor product. We prove that (i) every compact Hermitian operator T1 on U gives rise to a compact Hermitian operator T on U⊗pV

Computing Skinning Weights via Convex Duality
We present an alternate optimization method to compute bounded biharmonic skinning weights. Our method relies on a dual formulation, which can be optimized with a nonnegative linear least squares setup. Abstract We study the problem of optimising for skinning weights through the lens of convex duality.

Background Conflict and crises have long‐lasting and dramatic consequences on the mental health of children. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a psychosocial intervention on child mental health in Afghanistan. Methods A two‐arm cluster‐randomized controlled trial was conducted in 83 rural primary schools within three provinces of Afghanistan.

Admissible groups, symmetric factor sets, and simple algebras
Let K be a field of characteristic zero and suppose that D is a K-division algebra; i.e. a finite dimensional division algebra over K with center K. In Mollin [1] we proved that if K contains no non-trivial odd order roots of unity, then every finite odd

Artificial intelligence‐powered microscopy: Transforming the landscape of parasitology
Abstract Microscopy and image analysis play a vital role in parasitology research; they are critical for identifying parasitic organisms and elucidating their complex life cycles. Despite major advancements in imaging and analysis, several challenges remain. These include the integration of interdisciplinary data; information derived from various model

Tensor Changepoint Detection and Eigenbootstrap
ABSTRACT Tensor data consisting of multivariate outcomes over the items and across the subjects with longitudinal and cross‐sectional dependence are considered. A completely distribution‐free and tweaking‐parameter‐free detection procedure for changepoints at different locations is designed, which does not require training data.

Measure‐valued processes for energy markets
Abstract We introduce a framework that allows to employ (non‐negative) measure‐valued processes for energy market modeling, in particular for electricity and gas futures. Interpreting the process' spatial structure as time to maturity, we show how the Heath–Jarrow–Morton approach can be translated to this framework, thus guaranteeing arbitrage free ...

α-Derivations and their norm in projective tensor products of Γ-Banach algebras
Let (V,Γ) and (V′,Γ′) be Gamma-Banach algebras over the fields F1 and F2 isomorphic to a field F which possesses a real valued valuation, and (V,Γ)⊗p(V′,Γ′), their projective tensor product.
