A Tale of Networks and Networking: Integrating Structural and Behavioral Perspectives on Social Action

open access: yesPersonnel Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Research on social networks and networking has generated critical insights for theories and practices about social action in the work context. These insights mostly derive from two theoretical perspectives: one focuses on the network structures that influence individual actions and outcomes, and the other examines the behaviors that people ...

Pure Event Semantics

open access: yesPhilosophical Perspectives, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In a pure event semantics for natural language, the domain of quantification and predication is limited to events and states. I offer pure event semantic analyses of several phenomena, some of which have not been treated before in formal semantics. In the pure event semantics sketched in the second section, nouns are state predicates, and this

∗-Semisimplicity of tensor product LMC ∗-algebras

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1982
Abstract Each (Hausdorff) lmc C∗-algebra is ∗-semisimple. The ∗-semisimplicity of two suitable lmc∗-algebras is passed on to their completed E -tensor product iff E is faithful. A sort of strong converse is also valid. In the commutative case, ∗-semisimplicity implies semisimplicity, whereas the converse occurs for suitable lmc∗-algebras.

Legal Systems and Complexity: A Comment on Allen

open access: yesRatio Juris, Volume 38, Issue 2, Page 94-107, July 2025.
Abstract This work addresses Ronald J. Allen's views on complexity, evidence, and law. After some remarks on normative systems and the metaphors used to characterize them, the work addresses the issue of complexity by asking how a system characterized by complexity can tame the world's complexity; the focus then shifts to some aspects of evidence and ...

Risks of ignoring uncertainty propagation in AI‐augmented security pipelines

open access: yesRisk Analysis, EarlyView.
Abstract The use of AI technologies is being integrated into the secure development of software‐based systems, with an increasing trend of composing AI‐based subsystems (with uncertain levels of performance) into automated pipelines. This presents a fundamental research challenge and seriously threatens safety‐critical domains.

The triviality of dihedral cohomology for operator algebras

open access: yesScientific African
This article delves into algebraic topology, specifically (co)homology theory, which is essential in various mathematical fields. It explores different types of (co)homology groups such as Hochschild, cyclic, reflexive, and dihedral, focusing on dihedral
