Single Pair of Weyl Points Evolve From Spin Group‐Protected Nodal Line in Half‐Metallic Ferromagnet V3S4

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spin group (SG)‐based mechanism is proposed to realize a single pair of Weyl points. PT‐symmetric nodal lines (NLs) persist under T‐breaking, protected by the combination of SG and P symmetry. When considering spin‐orbit coupling, the SG‐protected NL will split into Weyl points, which will also induce anomalous transport phenomena arising from ...

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Even-Order Pascal Tensors Are Positive-Definite

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we show that even-order Pascal tensors are positive-definite, and odd-order Pascal tensors are strongly completely positive. The significance of these is that our induction proof method also holds for some other families of completely ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

New iterative criteria for strong H $\mathcal{H}$ -tensors and an application

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
Strong H $\mathcal{H}$ -tensors play an important role in identifying the positive definiteness of even-order real symmetric tensors. In this paper, some new iterative criteria for identifying strong H $\mathcal{H}$ -tensors are obtained.

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Low‐Symmetry Weyl Semimetals: A Path to Ideal Topological States

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a theoretical framework for realizing ideal Weyl semimetals, where Weyl nodes are well‐isolated at the Fermi level. The approach is exemplified in the low‐symmetry material Cu2SnSe3, which exhibits tunable topological phases, current‐induced orbital magnetization, and a strong circular photogalvanic effect, making it a promising ...

Patterning the Void: Combining L‐Systems with Archimedean Tessellations as a Perspective for Tissue Engineering Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel multi‐scale scaffold design using L‐fractals arranged in Archimedean tessellations for tissue regeneration. Despite similar porosity, tiles display vastly different tensile responses (1–100 MPa) and deformation modes. In vitro experiments with hMSCs show geometry‐dependent growth and activity. Over 55 000 tile combinations

Algorithm and linear convergence of the H-spectral radius of weakly irreducible quasi-positive tensors

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
A class of weakly irreducible quasi-positive tensors is defined by using directed hypergraphs of tensors, which generalizes the essential positive tensors, weakly positive tensors, generalized weakly positive tensors, and weakly essential irreducible ...
