Systematic treatment of displacements, strains and electric fields in density-functional perturbation theory

open access: yes, 2005
The methods of density-functional perturbation theory may be used to calculate various physical response properties of insulating crystals including elastic, dielectric, Born charge, and piezoelectric tensors.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Exploiting Generalized Cyclic Symmetry to Find Fast Rectangular Matrix Multiplication Algorithms Easier

open access: yesMathematics
The quest to multiply two large matrices as fast as possible is one that has already intrigued researchers for several decades. However, the ‘optimal’ algorithm for a certain problem size is still not known.

Pointwise orthogonal splitting of the space of TT-tensors

open access: yesДифференциальная геометрия многообразий фигур, 2023
In the present paper we consider pointwise orthogonal splitting of the space of well-known TT-tensors on Riemannian manifolds. Tensors of the first subspace belong to the kernel of the Bourguignon Laplacian, and the tensors of the second subspace ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Killing(-Yano) Tensors in String Theory

open access: yes, 2015
We construct the Killing(-Yano) tensors for a large class of charged black holes in higher dimensions and study general properties of such tensors, in particular, their behavior under string dualities.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Compilation of relations for the antisymmetric tensors defined by the Lie algebra cocycles of $su(n)$

open access: yes, 2001
This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive compilation of results, many new here, involving the invariant totally antisymmetric tensors (Omega tensors) which define the Lie algebra cohomology cocycles of $su(n)$, and that play an essential role in ...
