Characterizing the Effects of Randomness in the Tent Map

When the parameter of a map is chosen, at each iteration step, following a certain rule, is called Parametric Perturbation. If the parameters are drawn from a distribution, then this perturbation is called Random Parametric Perturbation. Studies have already been done on both Periodic and Random perturbations of a continuous map.

This paper deals with the dynamical properties of so-called skew tent maps defined by \[ f_{a,b}(x)= \begin{cases} ax+1, &x\leq 0,\\ -bx+1, &x\geq 0,\end{cases} \tag{1} \] \((a,b)\in D:= \{(a,b)\mid a>0\), \(b>1\), \(a+b\geq ab\}\). Here the authors give the relation between \(*\)-product for a kneading sequence and renormalization.
