INTERGENOMIC MAPPING OF MAIZE, TEOSINTE ANDTRIPSACUM

Evolution, 1973
among members of the American Maydeae (Zea spp. and Tripsacumn spp.) at both chromosomal and genic levels of organization. Thus they supplement significantly previous descriptions of karyotypes and gross chromosome structure in this group. In plants, linkage maps adequate for intergenomic analysis are available for a few genera, such as Hordeum, Pisum,

Spontaneous chromosome inversions of guatemalan teosintes (Zea mexicana)

Genetica, 1965
Two paracentric inversions,In3 andIn9, were found in the F1 hybrids of maize and Florida teosinte and these inversions were contributed by the teosinte parent. The length ofIn3 was equivalent to about 35 percent of the length of the long arm of chromosome 3, while that ofIn9, about 60 percent of the length of the short arm of chromosome 9.
