From sub-Terahertz to Terahertz: challenges and Design Considerations
2020 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference Workshops (WCNCW), 2020NR Rel-15 physical layer specifications (released on December 2018) by 3GPP targeting IMT 2020 can support deployments in frequency ranges 410 MHz - 7.125 GHz and 24.25 GHz - 52.6 GHz. The support of higher frequency bands with large chunks of contiguous spectrum was deemed essential to fulfilling IMT 2020 vision of 20 Gbps peak data- rate in realistic

A Terahertz-Transparent Electrochemical Cell for In Situ Terahertz Spectroelectrochemistry
Analytical Chemistry, 2018Terahertz spectroscopy is broadly applicable for the study of a wide variety of materials, but spectroelectrochemistry has not been performed in the THz range because of the lack of a THz-transparent electrochemical cell. While THz-transparent electrodes do exist, they have never been utilized in a complete three-electrode cell, which is the ...

We have measured the terahertz spectrum of pure l-tyrosine at nineteen temperatures in the range 6K to 300K using a synchrotron as the source of radiation. By fitting the temperature dependence of the observed modes with a Bose-Einstein model, we determine unequivocal low-frequency modes of l-tyrosine at absolute zero temperature occur at 1.02 ± 0.01 ...

Modern Terahertz-subTerahertz (THz-subTHz) spectrometers, based on continuously frequency-tunable coherent sources of radiation, the backward-wave oscillators (BWOs), are described which cover the frequencies v = 1 cm−1 − 50 cm−1 (0.03 − 1.5 THz) and allow for measurements at temperatures 2 − 1000 K, also in magnetic fields.

Investigation on Terahertz waveplate at upper Terahertz band
2011 International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2011We propose a Terahertz quarter waveplate operating at the upper Terahertz band, it is designed with artificial form birefringence through etching micro-grating structures on the high resitivity silicon by using laser micro-fabrication method.

In this work, we demonstrate novel THz detectors and modulators based on semiconductor nanowires. We show that single nanowire PC THz receivers exhibit excellent sensitivity, high SNR of 40, and a broad detection bandwidth up to 2 THz, comparable to the bulk InP PC receivers. We also demonstrate ultrafast THz modulation by GaAs nanowire polarisers with

Typesetting of terahertz waveforms
Optics Letters, 2004We demonstrate programmable generation of temporally shaped terahertz waveforms in LiNbO3 by spatially shaping the beam profile of femtosecond excitation laser pulses with a spatial light modulator. The generated terahertz waveforms have amplitudes that are approximately proportional to the first spatial derivative of the excitation beam profile.

Imaging with terahertz radiation
Reports on Progress in Physics, 2007Within the last several years, the field of terahertz science and technology has changed dramatically. Many new advances in the technology for generation, manipulation, and detection of terahertz radiation have revolutionized the field. Much of this interest has been inspired by the promise of valuable new applications for terahertz imaging and sensing.
