Terahertz ellipsometry and terahertz optical-Hall effect
Thin Solid Films, 2011Ellipsometry has been proven as an excellent tool for the precise and accurate determination of material optical properties in the spectral range from the far infrared to the vacuum ultraviolet. In the terahertz frequency domain, however, ellipsometry is still in its infancy.

2006 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and 2006 Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference, 2003
Terahertz silicon lasers are based on intracenter transitions of group-V donors. The peculiarities due to electron-phonon interaction and the state-of-the-art performance such as frequency tunability by stress or magnetic field are discussed.

Investigation on Terahertz waveplate at upper Terahertz band
2011 International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2011We propose a Terahertz quarter waveplate operating at the upper Terahertz band, it is designed with artificial form birefringence through etching micro-grating structures on the high resitivity silicon by using laser micro-fabrication method.

A Terahertz-Transparent Electrochemical Cell for In Situ Terahertz Spectroelectrochemistry
Analytical Chemistry, 2018Terahertz spectroscopy is broadly applicable for the study of a wide variety of materials, but spectroelectrochemistry has not been performed in the THz range because of the lack of a THz-transparent electrochemical cell. While THz-transparent electrodes do exist, they have never been utilized in a complete three-electrode cell, which is the ...

Terahertz Sensing Based on Metasurfaces
Advanced Optical Materials, 2019The terahertz (THz) band has very attractive characteristics for sensing and biosensing applications, due to some interesting features such as being a non‐ionizing radiation, very sensitive to weak interactions, thus, complementing typical spectroscopy ...

A study of sub-terahertz and terahertz gyrotron oscillators
Physics of Plasmas, 2012We present a theoretical study on some of the key physics issues associated with over-moded, sub-terahertz, and terahertz (THz) gyrotron oscillators. Simulations of a large number of fundamental and second cyclotron harmonic modes yield a broad database for physics observations as well as a test of relevant scaling laws.

Advances of terahertz research and terahertz satellite communications
2011 International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Control (ICECC), 2011Remarkable progress has been made of terahertz technologies such as the source and detector. Great advancement has also been achieved of terahertz systems. Such progress reviewed here presents a big impetus to terahertz satellite communications. For satellite-to-satellite communications terahertz link shows great advantages over either millimeter-wave ...
