Iterative Synthesis of Pyrene–Coronene Molecular Graphene Nanoribbons

An iterative approach delivers a new family of undoped, cove‐edged graphene nanoribbons with lengths up to 9.1 nm that exhibit both molar absorptivity and fluorescence brightness values on the order of 105 M−1 cm−1 and an intrinsic charge‐carrier mobility of 475 ± 32 cm2 V−1 s−1.

The detector design, which combines metamaterials and MEMs, is frequency selective, and we have fabricated and tested detectors at 95 GHz and 693 GHz with noise equivalent powers of 1.13 × 10−8 W/√Hz and 2.96 × 10−8 W/√Hz and responsivities of 16,500 V/W and 6,800 V/W, respectively. Inexpensive detector for terahertz imaging

Glow discharge plasma, derived from direct-current gas breakdown, is investigated in order to realize an inexpensive terahertz (THz) room-temperature detector. Preliminary results for THz radiation show that glow discharge indicator lamps as room-temperature detectors yield good responsivity and noise-equivalent power.
