Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...

Designing and manufacturing aspherical polystyrene lenses for the terahertz region

open access: yesSemiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics & Optoelectronics, 2018
We report on the development of lenses for terahertz vision systems from their design up to manufacturing. Fused deposition modeling was used for assisting the 3D printing manufacturing process.

Imaging with a multichannel terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system at 1030 nm excitation wavelength

open access: yes, 2022
S.47-48We present Terahertz imaging with a 1D multichannel time-domain spectroscopy system (TDS) which operates with a photoconductive array of 15 detection channels excited by a 1030 nm femtosecond fiber laser.

On‐Water Surface Synthesis of 2D Conjugated Metal–Organic Framework Films With Controllable Layer Orientation Enabling High‐Performance Chemiresistive Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Layer orientation dictates charge transport in 2D conjugated metal–organic frameworks, yet controllable methods remain scarce. We report surfactant monolayer‐assisted on‐water synthesis of cm2‐scale Ni‐HHTP films with programmable face‐on and edge‐on orientations.

Space‐Time Coding Conformal Metasurfaces for Multifrequency Beam Steering and Shaping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Space‐time coding conformal metasurfaces enable dynamic wave control on curved surfaces by combining programmable spatial patterns with temporal modulation. This study shows that a single conformal aperture can independently manipulate multiple frequency components, achieving multifunctional beam shaping and steering, with implications for ...

Thermal Radiation Emission From 3D Graphene Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional graphene networks are demonstrated as exceptional broadband thermal emitters, exhibiting high‐intensity, spectrally homogeneous emission and strong mechanical flexibility compared to conventional emitters like silicon carbide.

A Versatile Illumination System for Real-Time Terahertz Imaging

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Terahertz technologies are attracting strong interest from high-end industrial fields, and particularly for non-destructive-testing purposes. Currently lacking compactness, integrability as well as adaptability for those implementations, the development ...

Plasmonic terahertz detectors for biodetection

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2008
A report is presented on the biodetection capabilities of plasmonic terahertz detectors. Large changes in the terahertz response of plasmonic detectors loaded with solutions of globulin-free bovine serum albumin, arginine and heparin were measured for concentrations that did affect the device transfer characteristics.

Measurements of the time-jitter of coherent terahertz synchrotron radiation with a superconducting detector

open access: yes, 2012
We have applied an ultrafast superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) detector to study the time jitter of the propagating electron bunches in a synchrotron. The jitter was determined from the coherent terahertz (THz) synchrotron radiation (CSR)
