Large-area photonic circuits for terahertz detection and beam profiling [PDF]
Deployment of terahertz communication and spectroscopy systems relies on the availability of low-noise and fast detectors, with plug-and-play capabilities. However, most current technologies are stand-alone, discrete components.

Compact and ultra-efficient broadband plasmonic terahertz field detector
Most efficient terahertz detection schemes rely on complex free space optics and require high-power lasers. Here, the authors report an integrated plasmonic terahertz detector on a silicon photonics platform, with 2.5 THz bandwidth and a 65 dB dynamical ...

Dual-frequency CMOS terahertz detector with silicon-based plasmonic antenna
Multi-frequency Terahertz (THz) detectors have shown great application potentials in THz imaging and sensing systems. For the first time to our knowledge, a novel dual-frequency THz detector with the stacked structure consisting of a silicon-based ...

A flexible graphene terahertz detector [PDF]
We present a flexible terahertz (THz) detector based on a graphene field-effect transistor fabricated on a plastic substrate. At room temperature, this detector reveals voltage responsivity above 2 V/W and estimated noise equivalent power (NEP) below 3 nW/Hz at 487 GHz.

Regenerative terahertz quantum detectors [PDF]
Because of the ultrafast and photon-driven nature of the transport in their active region, we demonstrate that quantum cascade lasers can be operated as resonantly amplified terahertz detectors with wide RF bandwidth. Tunable responsivities up to 50 V/W and noise equivalent powers down to 100 pW/Hz1/2 are demonstrated at 4.7 THz.

Efficient photoconductive terahertz detection through photon trapping in plasmonic nanocavities
We present a photoconductive terahertz detector that employs a plasmonic nanocavity to offer high-sensitivity and broadband operation when used in a terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system even at very low optical pump power levels.
