Ultrafast time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray scattering setup on the FemtoMAX beamline

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
The feasibility of performing time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray scattering measurements with picosecond temporal resolution on the FemtoMAX beamline at the MAX IV Laboratory in Sweden is demonstrated. The design and main characteristics of the ultrafast time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray scattering (TR‐SAXS) setup on the FemtoMAX beamline at MAX IV are ...

Deep‐Learning‐Assisted Design of Dynamically Tunable Near‐Infrared Dual‐Band Lithium Niobate Metamaterial Absorber for Optical Communication

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 16, 26 August 2026.
An end‐to‐end deep‐learning framework combining inverse prediction and gradient refinement enables rapid design of dynamically tunable lithium‐niobate metamaterial absorbers for optical communication. Near‐perfect dual‐band absorption is achieved at 1310 and 1550 nm with electro‐optic wavelength tuning.

Temperature Dependent Complex Refractive Index (CRI) of Hexagonal Ice in the Range 150–270 K: Infrared and Far‐Infrared Transmission Measurements at the AILES Beamline

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract The complex refractive index (CRI) of ice is one of the main parameters driving the optical properties of ice clouds and frozen surfaces, hence their climate impact. While already characterized at short wavelengths, ice CRI has never been measured across the infrared range at temperatures relevant to Earth.

Band‐Selective, Low‐Dispersion Terahertz Attenuators Based on 3D Bulk Metamaterials Leveraging De‐latticed Cross‐Bar Resonator Ensembles

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 15, 13 August 2026.
This paper presents 3D bulk metamaterials in which diced cross‐bar meta‐grains are randomly dispersed in a polymer matrix by molding. The de‐latticed composite provides isotropic and band‐selective THz attenuation with over tenfold dispersion suppression compared to the periodic metasurface.

Ultrasound Participated Optomechanical Frequency Comb Generation and Tunability in High‐Q Microbubble Cavities

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 15, 13 August 2026.
Optomechanical frequency combs are generated in high‐Q microbubble cavities by simultaneous ultrasound and laser excitation, arising from nonlinear coupling between optomechanical modes and ultrasonically driven mechanical oscillations. Comb spacing and intensity are tunable through acoustic and optical parameters, whereas the optical spring effect ...
