Imaging with terahertz radiation
Reports on Progress in Physics, 2007Within the last several years, the field of terahertz science and technology has changed dramatically. Many new advances in the technology for generation, manipulation, and detection of terahertz radiation have revolutionized the field. Much of this interest has been inspired by the promise of valuable new applications for terahertz imaging and sensing.

Terahertz Radiation Transport in Photonic Glasses
Annalen der Physik, 2020AbstractMultiple scattering of electromagnetic (EM) waves arises in disordered media with a refractive index varying on the scale of the wavelength. The diffusion approximation is a powerful tool to treat multiple scattering as a photon random walk, neglecting resonant phenomena.

Terahertz transition radiation
Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Conference Digest of the 2004 Joint 29th International Conference on 2004 and 12th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2004., 2006We report on the observation of transition radiation generated by short optical pulses crossing the boundary between linear and non-linear materials. Unlike transition radiation observed with moving charges, we observe terahertz generation at the boundary between two media traversed by a femtosecond optical pulses.

SILICON FINFETS AS DETECTORS OF TERAHERTZ AND SUB-TERAHERTZ RADIATION
International Journal of High Speed Electronics and Systems, 2011We report on terahertz detection (from 0.2 THz to 2.4 THz) by Si FinFETs of different widths (with 2, 20, and 200 fins connected in parallel). FinFETs (with a small number of fins and with feature sizes as short as 20 nm to 40 nm) showed a very high responsivity (far above that previously measured for standard CMOS).

Rectenna Detection of Terahertz Radiation
Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2020Due to its many possible applications, studying the terahertz range is an important scientific task associated with the considerable difficulties caused by the complexity of creating suitable detectors. The functioning of a model terahertz rectenna presented in the form of a rectifying circuit is considered below.

Impact of terahertz radiation on cells
2013 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings (APMC), 2013Knowledge of the biological effects induced by THz radiation can have a crucial impact in future developments in fields of medicine, biology or chemistry. The lack of THz radiation sources with sufficient power as well as the missing knowledge of the specifics of their use led to the fact that the impact of microwave radiation on different organisms ...

Ticking terahertz radiation in attoseconds
International Photonics and Optoelectronics Meetings, 2012We perform a joint measurement of terahertz waves and high-order harmonics generated from noble atoms driven by a fundamental laser pulse and its second harmonic. By correlating their dependence on the phase-delay of the two pulses, we determine the generation of THz waves in attosecond resolution.
