Trends in the applications of terahertz radiation in oral oncology treatments

open access: yesOral Oncology Reports
In Terahertz radiation, known as THz-rays, falls within a special range of frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum, from 0.1 to 10 THz. This radiation has unique benefits for medical imaging, security screening, and non-destructive testing.

Terahertz amplifiers based on gain reflectivity in cuprate superconductors

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2022
We demonstrate that parametric driving of suitable collective modes in cuprate superconductors results in a reflectivity R>1 for frequencies in the low terahertz regime.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Phase-Insensitive Scattering of Terahertz Radiation [PDF]

open access: yesPhotonics, 2017
The nonlinear interaction between Near-Infrared (NIR) and Terahertz pulses is principally investigated as a means for the detection of radiation in the hardly accessible THz spectral region. Most studies have targeted second-order nonlinear processes, given their higher efficiencies, and only a limited number have addressed third-order nonlinear ...

Broadband Silicon‐On‐Glass Reflective Dielectric Metasurface for THz Beam Steering in 6G Wireless Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A CMOS‐compatible, all‐dielectric Silicon‐on‐Glass reflective metasurface enables low–loss terahertz wavefront control for future 6G wireless communication. Mie‐resonant silicon pillars provide full phase coverage near 500 GHz, achieving experimentally validated single‐, dual‐, and five‐beam steering with sub‐1.5° angular error and less than 3 dB ...

The Conjugate Gradient Least Square Algorithm in Terahertz Tomography

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Terahertz tomography allows for non-contact tomographic inspection of dielectric materials without the need for radiation protection measures. Terahertz tomography offers the opportunity to inspect such objects from multiple angles not only by measuring ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
