Field-resolved high-order sub-cycle nonlinearities in a terahertz semiconductor laser
Two-dimensional terahertz strong-field spectroscopy reveals wave-mixing processes up to eighth order in a free-running quantum cascade laser, unraveling its sub-cycle gain dynamics and nonlinearities in a regime of negative absorption.

Fluence and polarisation dependence of GaAs based Lateral Photo-Dember terahertz emitters
We characterise THz output of lateral photo-Dember (LPD) emitters based on semi-insulating (SI), unannealed and annealed low temperature grown (LTG) GaAs.

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Handed Magnon Propagation in Easy‐Axis Antiferromagnetic α‐Fe2O3
Coherent excitation and detection of handed magnons are achieved in the easy‐axis antiferromagnet α‐Fe2O3. An external magnetic field lifts the degeneracy between left‐ and right‐handed magnons without affecting their propagation velocity. The Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction and anisotropy modulate their amplitude and damping, enabling intrinsic ...

Optoelectronic frequency-modulated continuous-wave terahertz spectroscopy with 4 THz bandwidth
Time-domain spectroscopy with terahertz frequencies typically requires complex and bulky systems. Here, the authors present an opto-electronics-based, frequency-domain terahertz sensing technique which offers competitive measurement performance in a much

Terahertz Magneto Optical Polarization Modulation Spectroscopy
We report the development of new terahertz techniques for rapidly measuring the complex Faraday angle in systems with broken time-reversal symmetry using the cyclotron resonance of a GaAs two-dimensional electron gas in a magnetic field as a system for ...

Terahertz spectroscopy: The renaissance of far infrared spectroscopy
This article does not attempt to offer an exhaustive assessment of the current status of terahertz technology, nor does it endeavour to cover all the anticipated applications of terahertz science, rather it is an attempt to raise the awareness of this tool among those molecular spectroscopists who may not yet have considered the emerging opportunities ...

Phase Engineering of Nanogold: Non‐Close Packed Square Planes in A′B′ Stacking with a 0.5 Å Channel
Gold is well known to adopt the face‐centered‐cubic (fcc) structure. This work presents an unusual non‐close‐packed phase attained in a 40‐atom gold nanocluster, which is in contrast with the close‐packed fcc quasi‐isomer. The non‐compact structure exhibits exclusive square planes in a layer‐by‐layer stacking, hence, possessing a unique 0.5 Å channel ...

Fluorinated graphene has opened new opportunities for real‐world applications; however, its working and thermal stability are key issues for practical use. This study successfully demonstrates the stability of a fluorinated graphene‐based photodetector, achieved through a graphene, fluorinated graphene heterostructure (Gr/F‐Gr HS).
