Cancer-associated TERT promoter mutations abrogate telomerase silencing. [PDF]
Mutations in the human telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) promoter are the most frequent non-coding mutations in cancer, but their molecular mechanism in tumorigenesis has not been established.

Analysis of Human Uniparental Embryonic Stem Cells Reveals New Putative Imprinted Loci
To identify novel imprinted genes, parthenogenetic, androgenetic and biparental human embryonic stem cells and their differentiated neural progenitors were analysed by methylome and transcriptome profiling. This approach uncovered 12 putative novel imprinted genes, including a clustered region on chromosome 19, expanding the current catalogue of ...

Testicular mass frozen section examination: Pathological insights and diagnostic accuracy
Frozen section examination on testicular excisional biopsy is accurate and can help avoid unnecessary radical orchidectomy. A very high concordance rate between frozen section diagnosis and permanent diagnosis was obtained with no false negatives.

Successful Multimodal Treatment of Intracranial Growing Teratoma Syndrome with Malignant Features
Molecular analysis of the growing teratoma syndrome has not been extensively studied. Here, we report a 14-year-old boy with a growing mass during treatment for a mixed germ cell tumor of the pineal region.

Currarino syndrome with two synchronous presacral teratomas
Currarino syndrome is rare and consists of an anorectal malformation, a sacrococcygeal bony defect and a presacral mass. Each feature is present to a variable degree in affected individuals. The syndrome develops as a result of a heterozygous mutation in

Meningothelial Meningioma Component in a Prepubertal Testicular Teratoma
Teratomas are nonseminomatous germ cell tumors composed of elements derived from more than one germinal layers (endoderm, mesoderm, and ectoderm). Malignant transformation of teratoma in the testis is well known; however, benign somatic neoplasm arising ...
