Retroperitoneal teratoma is the third most common primary retroperitoneal neoplasm of childhood ranking behind neuroblastoma and nephroblastoma. Ten per cent of these tumors are malignant. Two cases of benign retroperitoneal teratoma are reported, and the first description of the angiographic appearance of such a tumor is presented.

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1978
An orbital teratoma with extension into the maxillary sinus, pterygopalatine fossa nasal cavity, and middle cranial fossa is presented. Through combined efforts of the services of Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Neurosurgery, a tumor that was 4.5 cm in greatest diameter was removed, leaving the globe and optic nerve within the orbit.

Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy, 1987
The definition, natural history and prognosis of sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) are reviewed. Two cases of SCT are presented in detail. Both were diagnosed well before delivery and required intensive perinatal management. Both babies survived intact after removal of 30–50% of total body mass.

The authors present a case of benign retroperitoneal teratoma in a 3-year-old boy, involving left-sided hydronephrosis. Urography demonstrated that the tumour (as seen in the review photograph) displaced the left kidney and induced considerable hydronephrosis.

A case of placental teratoma is presented. This is a rare tumor of disputed histogenesis. Some regard it as a separate entity while others believe it represents the extreme of a fetus amorphus. The tumor is benign and of no clinical significance.

Abstract Eight cases of sacrococcygeal teratoma are described. Seven patients were diagnosed at birth, and one presented at 3 1/2 months of age with urinary retention. Two patients had associated congenital anomalies (arachnoid cyst, external angular dermoid and bifid sacrum), while one had a family history of sacrococcygeal teratoma.

Teratomas are composed of multiple tissues foreign to the organ or site in which they arise. Their origin is postulated by 3 theories one of which is the origin from totipotent primodial germ cells. Anatomically, teratomas are divided into gonadal or extragonadal lesions and histologically they are classified as mature or immature tumors. Teratomas are

Two cases of sacrococcygeal teratomas are presented. One case illustrates the long course of urologic problems produced by a "successful" removal of the tumor. The literature is reviewed, and the characteristics of this congenital tumor are discussed.

Oronasopharyngeal teratomas are rare tumours that usually present in the neonatal period with airway obstruction. Management should include prompt establishment of the airway and early excision. Complete excision is recommended, which may require more than one operation, but multilating surgery should be avoided as the malignant potential of these ...
