Retroperitoneal teratoma is the third most common primary retroperitoneal neoplasm of childhood ranking behind neuroblastoma and nephroblastoma. Ten per cent of these tumors are malignant. Two cases of benign retroperitoneal teratoma are reported, and the first description of the angiographic appearance of such a tumor is presented.

An orbital teratoma with extension into the maxillary sinus, pterygopalatine fossa nasal cavity, and middle cranial fossa is presented. Through combined efforts of the services of Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Neurosurgery, a tumor that was 4.5 cm in greatest diameter was removed, leaving the globe and optic nerve within the orbit.

Sacrococcygeal Teratoma

The definition, natural history and prognosis of sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) are reviewed. Two cases of SCT are presented in detail. Both were diagnosed well before delivery and required intensive perinatal management. Both babies survived intact after removal of 30–50% of total body mass.
