Nanostructured Biomaterial‐Based Approaches to Support Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), reprogrammed from adult somatic cells, represent an innovative approach for regenerative medicine and biomedical applications. This review highlights the importance of nanostructured biomaterials, utilized as delivery systems or scaffolds, in supporting iPSC differentiation and fate through structural and ...

Aminated graphene nanosheet stimulates the maturation of hiPSCs‐derived cardiomyocytes in vitro and enhances their survival in vivo

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Aminated graphene (G‐NH2) niche matrix plays a pivotal role in precisely manipulating cardiac differentiation and maturation of hiPSCs. The molecular mechanism underlying cardiomyocyte maturation is closely linked to the PDGF‐β signaling pathway. Cardiomyocytes derived from the G‐NH2 matrix exhibit enhanced activity and functionality in vivo.

Thyroblastoma in Pregnancy: Expanding the Cytomorphological Spectrum of a Novel DICER1‐Associated Entity, a Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Thyroblastoma is a rare, aggressive thyroid neoplasm newly classified in the 2022 WHO Classification of Endocrine Tumors. It is characterized by embryonal, multilineage morphology and DICER1 mutations. Fewer than 15 well‐characterized cases have been reported, with limited cytological descriptions.

Risk factors for malignant transformation of mature cystic teratoma

open access: yesObstetrics & Gynecology Science, 2015
Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the preoperative characteristics of benign mature cystic teratoma (MCT) and struma ovarii and their risk factors associated malignancies, and determine the appropriate treatment options for these tumors.

Postnatal determinants of testicular germ cell tumor by histological subtypes: The EPSAM1 and EPSAM2 studies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? While several nongenetic risk factors are linked to testicular germ‐cell tumors (TGCTs), the influence of environmental and hormonal factors remains unclear. This study evaluated the role of postnatal exposures in the etiology of TGCT using data from the ongoing EPSAM case–control investigation in Italy.

Teratoma in the hepatoduodenal ligament

open access: yesJournal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, 2018
A teratoma is not an uncommon tumor in the pediatric age group. It has a predilection for specific sites, but a teratoma arising from the hepatoduodenal ligament (HDL) is very rare. Only 15 cases of HDL teratoma have been reported so far.
