Interaction of terbium with human platelets

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1984
The effect of terbium on platelets has been studied by aggregation experiments and by fluorescence measurements. TbCl3 does not substitute for CaCl2 in the aggregation of platelets induced by ADP, but it may even inhibit, probably by a competition mechanism.

Synthesis and characterization of tetravalent terbium complexes of alkali terbium hexaoxidoiodates

Polyhedron, 1992
Abstract Three terbium(IV) solid complexes of alkali terbium hexaoxidoiodates have been prepared from aqueous caustic potash solution. Chemical analysis indicates that the composition of these complexes is M I TbIO 6 · x H 2 O(M I = Li + , Na + , K + ), and the complexes have been characterized by means of magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR ...

Some Magnetic Structure Properties of Terbium and of Terbium-Yttrium Alloys

Journal of Applied Physics, 1963
Neutron diffraction studies have been made on single-crystal and polycrystalline specimens of terbium. Earlier magnetic and thermal measurements have indicated a transformation to an ordered magnetic state at approximately 230°K, and a subsequent order-order transformation at approximately 220°K.

Terbium chelates for fluorescence immunoassays

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1998
The sensitization of terbium(III) ion luminescence in the presence of 1-ethyl-14-dihydro-6,7-methylenedioxy-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic (oxolinic) acid was studied. The terbium label is bound to the antibody with diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid anhydride (DTPAA).

Specific heat of holmium and terbium

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1979
The lattice heat capacity of holmium and terbium is calculated using the frequency distribution function obtained from a lattice dynamical model for h.c.p. metals based on Keating's approach. The magnetic contribution to the specific heat of these rare earth metals is evaluated by subtracting the lattice and electronic contributions from the Cv data of

Terbium chelates for fluorescence immunoassay

The Analyst, 1985
A series of aromatic derivatives of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid has been prepared and the fluorescence properties of the terbium chelates examined. Most of the chelates show low fluorescence intensity, but have long fluorescence lifetimes.

Bright Terbium Chelate Phosphors

Applied Optics, 1968
Radiative quantum efficiencies can be enhanced by a factor of up to ten in solid films of terbium chelate phosphors by coordination with a tripyrazolylborate adduct. The data obtained point to a shielding of the terbium ion from low frequency vibrations of the solid state resin environment.

Distribution of terbium and increase in calcium concentrations in organs of mice administered with terbium chloride

Toxicology, 1991
To investigate the biological effects of terbium (Tb), male mice were intraperitoneally administered with TbCl3 at doses of 10, 50, or 250 mg Tb/kg. The Tb distribution in organs was determined after 18-20 h of injection by using a spectrofluorometer.
