The Structure of Terbium in the Ferromagnetic State [PDF]
Metals typically crystallize in highly symmetric structures due to their nondirectional and nonsaturated metallic bonds. Here, we report that terbium metal in its ferromagnetic state adopts an unusual low-symmetry orthorhombic structure with a Cmcm space group.

Valorization of phosphor powder of waste fluorescent tubes with an emphasis on the recovery of terbium oxide (Tb4O7) [PDF]
Waste fluorescent tubes containing yttrium, europium, lanthanum, cerium, and terbium are considered important resources of rare earths. Due to the scarcity of terbium in natural deposits, phosphor powder from waste fluorescent tubes could be a potential ...

Terbium-terbium interactions in lead phosphate glasses
Journal of Applied Physics, 2013Blue and green luminescence spectra of Tb3+ ions in lead phosphate glasses were examined under UV excitation. The green-to-blue luminescence intensity ratio G/B is considerably reduced with decreasing Tb3+ concentration. Thus, blue emission lines are enhanced in comparison to the main 5D4-7F5 green transition of Tb3+.
