A study of the dirichlet priors for term frequency normalisation [PDF]
In Information Retrieval (IR), the Dirichlet Priors have been applied to the smoothing technique of the language modeling approach. In this paper, we apply the Dirichlet Priors to the term frequency normalisation of the classical BM25 probabilistic model and the Divergence from Randomness PL2 model. The contributions of this paper are twofold.

Term Weighting Schemes for Slovak Text Document Clustering [PDF]
Text representation is the task of transforming the textual data into a multidimensional space with corresponding weights for every word. Wehave tested several widely used term weighting methods on manually created database from Slovak Wikipedia articles.

An improved soft frequency reuse scheme in long term evolution networks
In this paper,a modified soft frequency reuse(SFR) scheme is given to improve the performance of edge area and to mitigate the shortcomings of traditional SFR such as low business agility which is unable to adapt to dynamic spectrum allocation and ...

A New Term Frequency with Gaussian Technique for Text Classification and Sentiment Analysis
This paper proposes a new term frequency with a Gaussian technique (TF-G) to classify the risk of suicide from Thai clinical notes and to perform sentiment analysis based on Thai customer reviews and English tweets of travelers that use US airline ...

Correlation of term usage and term indexing frequencies
There have been several studies on the distributions of index terms, title terms, authors and other elements used in searching bibliographic databases. What is needed is to relate this information of the actual usage of terms in searching. This study uses data from monitoring the actual usage of terms in an online catalog at the School of Library and ...

Short term synaptic depression imposes a frequency dependent filter on synaptic information transfer. [PDF]
Depletion of synaptic neurotransmitter vesicles induces a form of short term depression in synapses throughout the nervous system. This plasticity affects how synapses filter presynaptic spike trains. The filtering properties of short term depression are

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.
