Endotyping Chronic Respiratory Diseases: T2 Inflammation in the United Airways Model

open access: yesLife
Over the past 15 years, the paradigm of viewing the upper and lower airways as a unified system has progressively shifted the approach to chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs). As the global prevalence of CRDs continues to increase, it becomes evident that

Rational determination of real‐life UV exposure across latitudes: An extended Diffey‐based model integrating behavioural factors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
This study models real‐life UVB and UVA exposure across latitudes and seasons using an extended Diffey framework with behavioural corrections. Findings reveal predictable dose patterns and support pragmatic SPF and UVA‐PF caps, offering a quantitative basis for realistic photoprotection and regulatory discussion.

Euthyroid goitre and sleep apnea

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2016
A number of predisposing factors (obesity, nasal obstruction, adenoidal hypertrophy, macroglossia, etc) have been related to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). In addition hypothyroidism and large goitres have been reported to be associated to OSAS,

Evaluating the suitability of six hydrophobic natural eutectic solvents as the internal phase in a cosmetic cream formulation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Hydrophobic natural eutectic solvents can function as structural oil phase substitutes in creams prepared by low‐energy processes, enabling sustainable, regulation‐compliant formulations with desirable sensory profiles. Abstract Objective This work evaluates whether hydrophobic natural eutectic solvents can replace the conventional oil phase in ...

Experimental Development and Validation of an E-Textile Sleeve for Surface Electromyography

open access: yesProceedings
This work describes the development of a leg sleeve with embedded e-textile electrodes for surface electromyography (sEMG). The novel device is a textile substrate with embedded circular electrodes made of conductive fabric, which can be connected to EMG

A serum and cream moisturization regimen outperforms separate use in sustaining hydration, reducing TEWL, and balancing surface lipids over an 8‐h study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Over 8 h, using a Hyaluronic Acid Serum in combination with a Moisturizing Cream sustained skin hydration more than either product alone, while lowering TEWL and normalizing surface lipids. Volunteers also reported a more immediate and long‐lasting moisturization with the combined regimen. Created in BioRender. Maldonado Lopez, A.

Epidermal necrolysis sequelae: A cohort study on prevalence and risk factors

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Long‐term sequelae after epidermal necrolysis are frequent, multiple and often severe. Cutaneous, ocular and psychological complications are more frequent, with significant socioeconomic impact. Cluster analysis identifies distinct patient profiles, highlighting the need for personalized multidisciplinary follow‐up.

Endothelial dysfunction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: an update on mechanisms, assessment tools and treatment strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex condition marked by chronic respiratory symptoms, such as cough and dyspnoea, and persistent irreversible airway obstruction, punctuated by acute episodes of exacerbations. COPD is associated with
