A Novel CHMP2B Splicing Variant in Atypical Presentation of Familial Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT C‐truncating variants in the charged multivesicular body protein 2B (CHMP2B) gene are a rare cause of frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), previously identified only in Denmark, Belgium, and China. We report a novel CHMP2B splice‐site variant (c.35‐1G>A) associated with familial FTLD in Spain. The cases were two monozygotic male twins who

Complexity of Problems for Commutative Grammars [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We consider Parikh images of languages accepted by non-deterministic finite automata and context-free grammars; in other words, we treat the languages in a commutative way --- we do not care about the order of letters in the accepted word, but rather how many times each one of them appears. In most cases we assume that the alphabet is of fixed size. We

A Variant of Gerdt's Algorithm for Computing Involutive Bases [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Ihe first author presented an efficient algorithm for computing involutive (and reduced Groebner) bases. In this paper, we consider a modification of this algorithm which simplifies matters to understand it and to implement. We prove correctness and termination of the modified algorithm and also correctness of the used criteria.
