Artificial Modulation of the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Kinetics via Control of Grain Boundaries Density in Mo2C Through Laser Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A laser‐driven strategy enables precise microstructural modulation of Mo₂C, achieving nanoscale grain control (15.6 ± 5 nm) and an ultrahigh grain boundary density (130 µm−1). Moreover, high‐angle grain boundaries enhance active sites, facilitate electron transport, and optimize hydrogen adsorption kinetics, significantly reducing overpotential.

Enhanced two-antenna structures for universal mobile telecommunications system diversity terminals

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2008
The design of several universal mobile telecommunications system multi-antenna systems with radiators having a high isolation, a high total efficiency and a low envelope correlation is presented. First, two planar inverted-F antennas (PIFAs), closely positioned at the top edge of a small ground plane whose size is representative of the printed circuit ...

Effects of mobile health interventions on health‐related outcomes in older adults with type 2 diabetes: A systematic review and meta‐analysis 移动健康干预对老年2型糖尿病患者健康相关结果的影响: 系统综述和meta分析

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 47-57, January 2023., 2023
Highlights Mobile health (mHealth) is an emerging forefront in patient‐centric care. Efficacy of mHealth interventions on health outcomes among older adults with type 2 diabetes is limited. Modest benefits on cardiometabolic outcomes with mHealth interventions have uncovered critical gaps in the field and offered insights to address barriers at hand ...

Satellite Quantum Communication via the Alphasat Laser Communication Terminal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
By harnessing quantum effects, we nowadays can use encryption that is in principle proven to withstand any conceivable attack. These fascinating quantum features have been implemented in metropolitan quantum networks around the world. In order to interconnect such networks over long distances, optical satellite communication is the method of choice ...

Further Improvements on Approximating the Uniform Cost-Distance Steiner Tree Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this paper, we consider the Uniform Cost-Distance Steiner Tree Problem in metric spaces, a generalization of the well-known Steiner tree problem. Cost-distance Steiner trees minimize the sum of the total length and the weighted path lengths from a dedicated root to the other terminals, which have a weight to penalize the path length.

Demonstration of a Graphene Adjustable‐Barriers Phototransistor with Tunable Ultra‐High Responsivity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A novel graphene‐based phototransistor with a tunable ultra‐high responsivity of 1.7 x 107 AW−1 has been demonstrated. Due to the selected material combination of amorphous silicon, graphene and n‐germanium, the device is potentially capable of dual‐band detection in the VIS‐IR range.
