Abstract The inadequacy of previous calculations of terminal velocities at other than sea level conditions is discussed. Attention is called to actual measurements of terminal velocities at different air densities, and empirical formulae are presented which fit the data very closely.

In the proposed experiments, head room in the laboratory is not sufficient for water drops to acquire their terminal velocities. However the information listed appears that drop velocities at the instant of impact can be computed with reasonable study to confirm the validity of the previously-described method of computation.
