Magnetic alginate beads, functionalized with copper ferrite, effectively remove 17‐β‐estradiol from Amazonian water, exhibiting optimized 238.65 μg g−1 capacity, fast 40 min kinetics, easy recovery, and successful remediation. Abstract The presence of endocrine‐disrupting compounds, such as 17‐β‐estradiol, in aquatic ecosystems poses a significant ...

SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, inhibited key metabolic pathways associated with pyrethroid insecticide resistance in cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) and its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae. SYN‐A restored pyrethroid efficacy against resistant CSFB allowing up to 80% reduction in application rates.

Using cellular phenotyping and resistance profiling, we show that herbicides across the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee (HRAC) Groups 3 and 23 induce indistinguishable, dose‐dependent microtubule defects. Resistance patterns, rather than cellular phenotypes, reveal distinct sites of action and support reclassifying Group 3 as α‐tubulin binders ...

ABSTRACT Macroinvertebrate‐based flow indices have potential application to guiding environmental flow allocations and monitoring their effectiveness, but their sensitivity to such flows has seldom been tested. We examined the response of the Australian Macroinvertebrate Flow Index (AMFI), calculated from family‐level data, to three stages of ...

Vulnerability to Dams of the Last Undammed Large Rivers of Southeast Asia
ABSTRACT The vast majority of large Eurasian rivers are regulated by hydropower dams, but some have survived as free‐flowing rivers so far in the Arctic and along stretches of the Myanmar coast. There, the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) and Salween Rivers, two of the largest rivers of Southeast Asia, provide a huge amount of sediment, nurturing floodplains and

ABSTRACT Groundwater discharge plays a key role in maintaining habitat suitability for cold‐water fish by generating streamflow and modulating temperatures. However, the thermal influence depends on groundwater source depth and how far groundwater travels from the point of discharge to a receiving stream.

Brazil's Cerrado valley wetlands—swamp savanna and gallery forest—are highly important for the biome's water cycle and carbon storage and are susceptible to degradation from the impacts of land use expansion and the climate crisis. In support of their detailed monitoring and assessment, we developed and tested a transferable mapping approach that ...

ABSTRACT Colorado's geologic, pedologic, topographic, hydrological, and climatic contrasts create strong but under‐synthesized opportunities for sustainable agritourism. This review investigates how geodiversity, and the broader environmental heterogeneity within which it operates, can be used to diversify farm income, strengthen place‐based visitor ...
