Habitat‐Mediated Filtering, Rather Than Soil Properties, Shapes Plant Community Diversity on Nelson Island, Maritime Antarctica

We test whether habitat (rocky outcrops and soil substrate) and soil‐mediated filters (fertility and texture) predict species richness and variability in cryptogamic community composition in Maritime Antarctica. Our results indicate that fine‐scale habitat constitutes the dominant environmental filter, promoting high species turnover.
