Recent Developments in Sustainable Composites for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): A Review

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 4, April 2026.
This review presents the potential of using natural plant fibers and biodegradable polymers as sustainable printed circuit boards (PCBs). This review provides future directions in innovation and sustainable PCBs development. Bio‐composites PCBs are both environmentally friendly and sustainable due to the natural fibres they contain.

Synergistic Effects of Mesoporous Structure and Oxygen Vacancies in SnO2 for Enhanced CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 4, April 2026.
Mesopores in SnO2 increase the number of active sites and oxygen vacancies, strengthen intermediate stabilization, and improve structural stability, enhancing CO2 to formate conversion. Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2RR) into value‐added chemicals represents a promising strategy for sustainable CO2 utilization.

Hybrid Bilayer Solid Electrolyte for Enhanced Stability in Lithium–Carbon Dioxide Batteries for Carbon Utilization

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
In Li–CO2 battery chemistry, lithium ions undergo a redox reaction with CO2 to form Li2CO3 and solid carbon on the surface of cathode (4Li + 3CO2↔2Li2CO3+C). Li–CO2 could be an alternative for the use of CO2 in the industrial emission with contribution to reduced greenhouse emissions.

Northeastern Greenland Paleomagnetic Records Indicate the Influence of Geomagnetic Flux Lobe Intensity on Virtual Geomagnetic Pole Migration During the Holocene

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Paleomagnetic and rock magnetic analyses were conducted on sediment cores from the northeastern Greenland Shelf and Young Sound along the western edge of Fram Strait. The paleomagnetic signal in all three sediment cores is characterized by a strong and stable single component magnetization carried by low coercivity ferrimagnetic single domain ...

Evaluating Seismic Ambient Noise Techniques for Imaging Lava Tubes on the Moon

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Detecting and characterizing lava tubes is a key objective of upcoming lunar missions. While evidence for their presence exists, their precise dimensions and depths remain uncertain. This study evaluates the potential of seismic ambient noise methods, such as seismic interferometry, H/V spectral ratios, distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), and ...

As above, so below: A perspective into the application of land‐forest monitoring methods for the assessment of marine animal forests

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 1124-1142, April 2026.
Abstract Marine animal forests (MAFs) are benthic ecosystems dominated by vertically structuring filter‐ and suspension‐feeders. As terrestrial forests, they are considered biodiversity hotspots, forming canopies, serving as a refuge, nursery, reproduction and feeding shelters for many species.
