Control Measurements of Crane Rails Performed by Terrestrial Laser Scanning [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2017
This article presents a method for measuring the geometry of crane rails with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS). Two sets of crane rails were divided into segments, their planes were adjusted, and the characteristic rail lines were defined. We used their profiles to define the positional and altitude deviations of the rails, the span and height ...

Solid Particle‐Liquid Metal Mixtures for Robust High‐Current Interconnects in Stretchable Electronics and Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Metallic microparticles dispersed in liquid metal interconnects mitigate electromigration‐induced failure by reconfiguring internal current density distributions. These fillers facilitate the growth of a robust, protective gallium oxide shell at elevated temperatures, shifting the failure threshold toward a thermal limit.

Terrestrial Laser Scanning to Detect Liana Impact on Forest Structure [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Tropical forests are currently experiencing large-scale structural changes, including an increase in liana abundance and biomass. Higher liana abundance results in reduced tree growth and increased tree mortality, possibly playing an important role in the global carbon cycle. Despite the large amount of data currently available on lianas, there are not

Quantitative evaluation of scaling factor on coordinate transformation for time-of-flight terrestrial laser scanner [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Terrestrial laser scanning is a new approach in three-dimensional measurement. Since the acquisition of terrestrial laser scanner data requires multiple scanning stations to complete the data of a scanned object, the coordinate transformation process is ...

In Vivo Microplastic Detection With Photoacoustic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microplastics are posing an escalating threat to both ecological systems and human health. Yet, current methods for investigating their bioaccumulation are highly invasive, requiring destructive analysis of ex vivo tissues via mass spectrometry, dye labelling, or Raman microspectroscopy.
