Large impacts around a solar-analog star in the era of terrestrial planet formation [PDF]
A cosmic dust storm that came and went Unseen planets may still kick up a lot of dust. While rocky exoplanets finish their growth, destructive collisions among them throw off clouds of fine debris that shine bright in the infrared. Meng et al.

Atmospheric Dynamics of Terrestrial Planets [PDF]
The solar system presents us with a number of planetary bodies with shallow atmospheres that are sufficiently Earth-like in their form and structure to be termed “terrestrial.” These atmospheres have much in common, in having circulations that are driven primarily by heating from the Sun and radiative cooling to space, which vary markedly with latitude.

A highly stable, low‐temperature phosphate glass is developed for multimaterial additive manufacturing of multifunctional microfluidics. Glass, metal conductors, and sacrificial polymer are coprinted, enabling monolithic fabrication. The sacrificial paste forms precise channels and decomposes during sintering.

Secular Resonances in Planet-hosting Binary Stars. II. Application to Terrestrial Planet Formation
Continuing our study of the effects of secular resonances on the formation of terrestrial planets in moderately close binary stars, we present here the results of an extensive numerical simulations of the formation of these objects.

Direct imaging of exoplanets: Legacy and prospects
Understanding how giant and terrestrial planets form and evolve, what is their internal structure and that of their atmosphere, represents one of the major challenges of modern astronomy, which is directly connected to the ultimate search for life at the

Investigation of the Sudden Solar Ionospheric Disturbance using Radio Telescope [PDF]
Low-frequency radio telescopes are cheap and useful devices for the investigation of terrestrial and extra-terrestrial emissions. These emissions come either from the Sun and the planet Jupiter to terrestrial emissions.

The Evolution of Terrestrial-Type Planets [PDF]
The present internal state of the earth and the age of various events such as core formation and continental formation can be used to place fairly strong constraints on the early history of the earth and, presumably, the other terrestrial planets. The present internal configuration of the earth shows that it is an extremely differentiated body, and the

Protonic ceramic fuel cells offer a promising route to generate power efficiently but face critical challenges in achieving industrially viable activity and stability at their cathodes in CO2‐containing air. This report proposes a new cathode material design strategy to enable the cathode to be both catalytically active and CO2 tolerant through the ...

Terrestrial Planet Formation from Two Source Reservoirs
This work describes new dynamical simulations of terrestrial planet formation. The simulations started at the protoplanetary disk stage, when planetesimals formed and accreted into protoplanets, and continued past the late stage of giant impacts.
