Conversion of Transplanted Mature Hepatocytes into Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.

Microglial Membranes Wrapped Ultrasmall Medium‐Entropy Ru Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhanced Catalysis for Accelerating Inflammation/Redox Microenvironment Regulation in Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PtRhIr/Ru SAN@M nanozymes cross the blood–brain barrier and selectively accumulate in hemorrhagic brain regions. By mimicking multiple enzyme activities, they attenuate oxidative stress, modulate microglial polarization toward an anti‐inflammatory phenotype, inhibit ferroptosis, and promote neuronal repair.

Resilience of Interurban Public Transport and Impact of COVID-19 on Rural Connectivity in Sparsely Populated Regions

open access: yesLand
The aim of this research consisted of assessing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the interurban public transport system in a rural region with a sparse population density, considering the number of tickets sold and passengers in each locality, as ...

Territorial Development

open access: yes, 2014
Inefficient infrastructures, lack of employment opportunities and poor social amenities are some of the rural challenges Nigeria is facing. These challenges persist mainly due to ineffective approaches used in tackling them. This thesis argues that Nigeria can improve this situation by taking a "territorial development" approach.

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

Cross-Border territorial development

open access: yes, 2019

Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.
