Guidelines adherence and hypertension control at a tertiary hospital in Malaysia
Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, 2012AbstractRationale, aims and objectives Existing literature suggests that doctors' poor adherence with guidelines is one of the major contributing factors to suboptimal control of hypertension. This study aims to evaluate doctors' adherence with Malaysian clinical practice guideline (CPG 2008) in a tertiary care hospital, and factors associated with ...

Prediction of the Tertiary Structure of the Complement Control Protein Module
Journal of Protein Chemistry, 1997Complement control protein (CCP) modules, or short consensus repeats (SCR), exist in a wide variety of complement and adhesion proteins, principally the selectins. We have predicted the three-dimensional structure of a CCP module based upon secondary structural information derived by two-dimensional NMR [Barlow et al. (1991), Biochemistry 30, 997-1004].

Predictive function control in tertiary level for power flow management of DC microgrid clusters
Electronics Letters, 2020Tertiary control is the highest level in hierarchical control of microgrids to perform power exchange between the microgrid and external networks. In this Letter, a tertiary control strategy based on predictive function control (PFC) is proposed to ...

Skin Cancer: Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Prevention. Part I.
Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, 2022Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide. Understanding the natural history of skin cancer provides the framework for the creation of prevention and control strategies that aim to reduce the skin cancer burden.

Infection control for extrapulmonary tuberculosis at a tertiary care cancer center
American Journal of Infection Control, 2014Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB) can be infectious when diagnostic or therapeutic procedures are performed on infected lesions. We retrospectively describe infection control and evaluate isolation failure rates during the manipulation of active extrapulmonary TB lesions at a comprehensive cancer center over a 5-year period.

Adaptive tertiary mirror for segmented mirror control
SPIE Proceedings, 2004Advances in the fabrication of adaptive ceramic modules result in compact components that can be adapted to a variety of applications. The adaptive tertiary is a unique component that can provide a variety of functions. Individual modules integrated with a tip/tilt stage can provide auxiliary phasing control of future large segmented telescopes.

A controlled stream mesocosm for tertiary treatment of sewage
Ecological Engineering, 1996Freshwater stream ecosystems are well known for their capabilities for “self-purification” of sewage and other wastewaters. Unfortunately, the efficiencies of treatment are low and concentrations and volumes now discharged cannot be treated by self-purification alone. This paper describes an experiment with a stream mesocosm, in central California, USA,

Improved secondary and new tertiary voltage control
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1995In this paper the basic role of a secondary (regional level) voltage control in a multi-regional electric power system is reviewed. Specifically, certain limitations of presently implemented control schemes are described. Next an improved secondary voltage control (ISVC) scheme is proposed.
