Guidelines adherence and hypertension control at a tertiary hospital in Malaysia
Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, 2012AbstractRationale, aims and objectives Existing literature suggests that doctors' poor adherence with guidelines is one of the major contributing factors to suboptimal control of hypertension. This study aims to evaluate doctors' adherence with Malaysian clinical practice guideline (CPG 2008) in a tertiary care hospital, and factors associated with ...

Prediction of the Tertiary Structure of the Complement Control Protein Module
Journal of Protein Chemistry, 1997Complement control protein (CCP) modules, or short consensus repeats (SCR), exist in a wide variety of complement and adhesion proteins, principally the selectins. We have predicted the three-dimensional structure of a CCP module based upon secondary structural information derived by two-dimensional NMR [Barlow et al. (1991), Biochemistry 30, 997-1004].

Infection control for extrapulmonary tuberculosis at a tertiary care cancer center
American Journal of Infection Control, 2014Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB) can be infectious when diagnostic or therapeutic procedures are performed on infected lesions. We retrospectively describe infection control and evaluate isolation failure rates during the manipulation of active extrapulmonary TB lesions at a comprehensive cancer center over a 5-year period.

Adaptive tertiary mirror for segmented mirror control
SPIE Proceedings, 2004Advances in the fabrication of adaptive ceramic modules result in compact components that can be adapted to a variety of applications. The adaptive tertiary is a unique component that can provide a variety of functions. Individual modules integrated with a tip/tilt stage can provide auxiliary phasing control of future large segmented telescopes.

A controlled stream mesocosm for tertiary treatment of sewage
Ecological Engineering, 1996Freshwater stream ecosystems are well known for their capabilities for “self-purification” of sewage and other wastewaters. Unfortunately, the efficiencies of treatment are low and concentrations and volumes now discharged cannot be treated by self-purification alone. This paper describes an experiment with a stream mesocosm, in central California, USA,

Load shifting for tertiary control power provision
2015 IEEE 5th International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives (POWERENG), 2015The objective of this work is load shifting of domestic appliances for tertiary reserve provision. Aggregate load curve simulators are built by modelling stochastic consumer behaviour. Analysis is then performed on the number of loads that are required to aggregate in order to provide 5MW tertiary control power to participate in the Swiss ancillary ...

Improved secondary and new tertiary voltage control
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1995In this paper the basic role of a secondary (regional level) voltage control in a multi-regional electric power system is reviewed. Specifically, certain limitations of presently implemented control schemes are described. Next an improved secondary voltage control (ISVC) scheme is proposed.

A Distributed Secondary-Tertiary Coordinated Control Framework for Islanded Microgrids
2020 IEEE 18th International Conference on Industrial Informatics (INDIN), 2020In this paper, a fully distributed secondary-tertiary coordinated control framework for islanded ac microgrids has been proposed. First, the distributed secondary control for frequency restoration, voltage regulation and power sharing has been proposed. Therefore, the system frequency and bus voltages can be maintained at set points. Each DG can follow

Distributed Tertiary Control of DC Microgrid Clusters
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2016A distributed control method is proposed to handle power sharing among a cluster of dc microgrids. The hierarchical control structure of microgrids includes primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. While the load sharing among the sources within a dc microgrid is managed through primary and secondary controllers, a tertiary control level is required to
