Designing self-tests for biology

In this paper the use of self-tests in biology is discussed and one example is presented. The method used to produce the test is outlined. The type of self-test illustrated is applicable to many subjects.

Scoliosis and Developmental Biology: Testing The Hypothesis
1999It is generally believed that scoliosis with a left thoracic convexity is more likely to have underlying pathology than the commoner right pattern. Examination of the scoliosis database showed that infantile idiopathic and congenital scoliosis have a random distribution of right and left curve patterns.
