Revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity: Space-time structure and dynamics

open access: closedFoundations of Physics, 1986
The experimental testing of the Lorentz transformations is based on a family of sets of coordinate transformations that do not comply in general with the principle of equivalence of the inertial frames. The Lorentz and Galilean sets of transformations are the only member sets of the family that satisfy this principle.

II. Discussion of an experiment proposed for testing the simultaneity theorem of the special theory of relativity

open access: closedProceedings of the Physical Society, 1965
Recently Furth proposed an experiment to test the theorem of the relativity of simultaneity of events. Using this theorem he shows that the proposed experiment will result in a measurable phase shift. He neglects, however, the Lorentz transformation for spatial coordinates, and it is shown here that when this transformation is included the phase shift ...

Revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity

open access: closedFoundations of Physics, 1984
The only test theory used by workers in the field of testing special relativity to analyze the significance of their experiments is the proof by H. P. Robertson [Rev. Mod. Phys. 21, 378 (1949)] of the Lorentz transformations from the results of the experimental evidence.

Equations of motion for a test particle in an external field in the special theory of relativity

open access: closedSoviet Physics Journal, 1977
A study is made of the general-covariant equations of motion of Trautman for a particle interacting with an external field. It is shown that in the general case the relativistic equations of motion are not solvable for the acceleration four-vector but have the form aik(Dukds) = Fi.

Doppler spectroscopy on relativistic particle beams in the light of a test theory of special relativity

open access: closedZeitschrift fr Physik A Hadrons and Nuclei, 1992
Modern experimental techniques based on collinear laser spectroscopy have led to greatly improved versions of the classical Ives-Stilwell experiment. The new experiments employ collinear laser beams and measure the Doppler shift as it is seen in the rest frame of a relativistic particle beam.

Revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity: Supergroups and superspace

open access: closedFoundations of Physics, 1986
The revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity (SR) has been constructed upon a family of sets of passive coordinate transformations in flat space-time [J. G. Vargas and D. G. Torr,Found. Phys., 16, 1089 (1986)]. In the same paper, it has also been shown that the boosts depend in general on the velocities of the two frames involved and not ...

Kinematical and gravitational analysis of the rocket-borne clock experiment by Vessot and Levine using the revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity

open access: closedFoundations of Physics, 1986
The kinematic aspects of the rocket-borne clock experiment by Vessot and Levine are analyzed with the revised Robertson's test theory of special relativity (Found. Phys. 14, 625 (1984)). Besides the expected time-dilation, it is found that the intermediate steps of this experiment yield in principle Michelson-Morley type information (a relation between

Possible Experiments to test Einstein's Special Relativity Theory [PDF]

open access: closedJ. Comput. Methods Sci. Eng., 2011
All of the experiments supporting Einstein's Special Relativity Theory are also supportive of the Lorentz ether theory, or many other ether theories. However, a growing number of experiments show deviations from Einstein's Special Relativity Theory, but ...
