Hydrocele and Epididymitis Mimicking Testicular Torsion on Scrotal Scintigraphy
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 1993Because interruption of blood flow to the testicle for even a few hours can result in the loss of the spermatogenic capacity of this organ, testicular torsion is considered a surgical emergency. Scrotal scintigraphy is a well-established, readily available, highly accurate technique for evaluating individuals with scrotal pain.

Ethanolamine Oleate as a Sclerosant for Testicular Hydroceles and Epididymal Cysts
British Journal of Urology, 1988Summary— Forty patients with testicular hydroceles and 16 patients with epididymal cysts were treated by tapping and injection of ethanolamine oleate; 97.5% of the hydroceles and 31% of the epididymal cysts were completely cured, 50% of the latter partly cured and 19% failed. Results of Fibrin Glue Application Therapy in Testicular Hydrocele
European Urology, 1998Nine patients, mean age 55 years, with testicular hydroceles, were treated by aspiration and two-component fibrin glue injection. One patient was treated twice. The glue contains 70-110 mg fibrinogen and 500 IU human thrombin in 0.5- and 2-ml injections, respectively (Tisseel duo quick, Immune AB).

Hydrocele Mimicking Testicular Torsion on Radionuclide and Ultrasound Studies
CLINICAL NUCLEAR MEDICINE, 1997A 24-year-old man with a swollen right testis was noted, by ultrasound (US), to have a hydrocele on that side, and homogenous echogenicity. Clear demonstration of blood flow was not possible. A Tc-99m RBC radionuclide study also did not show perfusion of the right testis.

Testicular dysmorphism in infantile abdominoscrotal hydrocele: insights into etiology
International Urology and Nephrology, 2014Testicular dysmorphism (TD) associated with infantile abdominoscrotal hydrocele (ASH) may be due to the pressure effect of hydrocele on the testis or may be a developmental abnormality. Only a few reports are referred to the etiology of testicular changes in infantile ASH.

Abstract Based on the pathogenesis of hydroceles, one may speculate that testicular tumor associated with hydrocele implies metastatic lymph node involvement. A unique case of positive cytologic result from hydrocele fluid in a patient with testicular tumor and lymph node metastases is presented to illustrate the concept.
