Identification of Yunnan Guangnan Dendrobium officinale With Different Growth Years Using UHPLC–Orbitrap–MS

open access: yeseFood
Dendrobium officinale from Guangnan was screened nontargeted using UHPLC–Orbitrap‐MS for different growth years. OPLS‐DA effectively differentiated D. officinale based on growth years, identifying 70 different compounds.

Assessing Seasonal Effects on Identification of Cultivation Methods of Short–Growth Cycle Brassica chinensis L. Using IRMS and NIRS

open access: yesFoods
Seasonal (temporal) variations can influence the δ13C, δ2H, δ18O, and δ15N values and nutrient composition of organic (ORG), green (GRE), and conventional (CON) vegetables with a short growth cycle.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Evaluating Water Management Efficiency in Regulating Cadmium and Arsenic Accumulation in Rice in Typical Japonica Paddy Soils at Varied pH Levels

open access: yesAgriculture
There is growing concern regarding cadmium (Cd) exposure through rice consumption. Compared with alternate wetting and drying (AWD), continuous flooding (CF) is usually considered as an effective approach for reducing Cd enrichment in rice but increases ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
