Sex and stress hormone dysregulation as clinical manifestations of hypothalamic function in migraine disorder: A meta‐analysis

A meta‐analysis was conducted on 29 studies comparing migraineurs to controls on the variables diurnal cortisol, heart rate variability, female estrogen and male testosterone. Diurnal cortisol was found to be significantly higher in all migraineurs and luteal estrogen was found to be significantly lower in female migraineurs.
