Neonatal injections of 10 μg testosterone propionate (TP) lowered the sexual responsiveness of the adult female rats to progesterone. Females were injected on day 1, 2, 4, 6 or 10 of life with 10 μg TP.

Effect of castration and testosterone propionate on mouse vibrissae
British Journal of Dermatology, 1983Vibrissae of normal mice were measured for six cycles starting at birth. Groups of immature male albino mice were castrated at 21 days of age when E, F, G and H (Danforth nomenclature, 1925) vibrissae were in their first cycle of growth. Levels of testosterone in their peripheral plasma were reduced to about one tenth of the normal.

Testosterone propionate and histamine metabolism in rats
American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1961Urinary histamine output has been studied under various experimental conditions in rats. Orchidectomy increased the output of free histamine in rats of the Sprague-Dawley strain but not in rats of the Wistar strain. Subcutaneous administration of testosterone propionate (1 mg/rat) suppressed the output of free histamine in ovariectomized rats but not ...

Testosterone propionate in the treatment of eclamptic toxemia
The American Journal of Surgery, 1951I T has been proposed that excessive secretion of adrenocorticotropin (ACTH) or an increased ACTH effect is an essentia1 part of the etioIogic mechanism of ecIampsia. Testosterone is a specific for both hypersecretion of ACTH and the undesirable results of an excess of ACTH. This suggests that testosterone shouId be usefu1 in the treatment of ecIamptic

Effects of testosterone propionate on hindlimb-immobilized rats
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1982Forty albino male rats were randomly divided into 4 groups of 10. Group I served as the nonimmobilized control and received daily placebo injections of sesame oil. The rats in group II were castrated, their hindlimbs were immobilized using a plaster cast, and they received daily injections of sesame oil.

Testosterone Propionate Pellet Absorption in the Female
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1942The current literature contains several reports on the rate of absorption of pellets of sex sterols implanted in experimental animals (1, 2). In the human being, however, only scant data are available that may furnish adequate information as to dosage and length of duration of effects of sex sterols used in this manner.

Effects of testosterone propionate administered perinatally on sexual behavior of female ferrets.
Journal of Comparative and Physiological Psychology, 1976Female ferrets that received injections of testosterone propionate (TP) early in postnatal life displayed significantly more masculine behavior than did control females when gonadectomized and administered either TP or estradiol benzoate in adulthood ...
