Die Carbohydrasen der SpinnmilbeTetranychus urticae Koch (Acari, Tromb{ie307-1}diformes, Tetranychidae)diformes, Tetranychidae) [PDF]

open access: bronzeExperientia, 1961
In preparations of crushed whole spider mites (Tetranychus urticae Koch), the enzymes capable of hydrolyzing carbohydrates were identified. The products of the enzymic hydrolysis were detected by paper chromatography. The following substrates were hydrolyzed: Starch, maltose, sucrose, trehalose, melibiose, lactose, melezitose and raffinose.

Target gene selection for sprayable dsRNA-based biopesticide against Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae). [PDF]

open access: yesPest Manag Sci
Silencing Prosbeta‐5 and Prosbeta‐1 resulted in high mortality in Tetranychus urticae, identifying them as potential target genes for double‐stranded RNA‐based biopesticides using spray‐induced gene silencing (SIGS). Abstract BACKGROUND Because of the excessive use of synthetic chemicals, the two‐spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, a highly ...

Spider mite tetranins elicit different defense responses in different host habitats. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant J
SUMMARY Spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) are a major threat to economically important crops. Here, we investigated the potential of tetranins, in particular Tet3 and Tet4, as T. urticae protein‐type elicitors that stimulate plant defense. Truncated Tet3 and Tet4 proteins showed efficacy in activating the defense gene pathogenesis‐related 1 (PR1) and ...
