EFFICIENCY OF THE PREDATORY MITE, CHEYLETUS MALACCENSIS OUDEMANS ON Tetranychus cucurbitacearum (SAYED) (ACARI: CHEYLETIDAE & TETRANYCHIDAE) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Productivity and Development, 2016
Developmental time, consumption rate and fecundity of Cheyletus malaccensis Oudemans were studied on different stages (eggs, immatures and adults) of Tetranychus cucurbitacearum (Sayed)at laboratory conditions, 32±2°C and 50±10% R.H.

Is only the first mating effective for females in the Kanzawa spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai (Acari: Tetranychidae)? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Although only the first mating is effective for females in Tetranychus urticae (Acari: Tetranychidae), it remains unclear whether this is also true for closely related species, such as T. kanzawai.

Inter-specific crosses between Tetranychus urticae Koch and Tetranychus kanzawai Kishida.

open access: yesJapanese journal of applied entomology and zoology, 1987

Drought and Herbivory Drive Physiological and Phytohormonal Changes in Soybean (Glycine max Merril): Insights From a Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With climate change, abiotic and biotic stresses such as drought and herbivory are predicted to further diminish agricultural productivity. Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merrill), a crop of global economic importance, is vulnerable to both. However, the interactive effects of drought and herbivory on soybeans haven't been explored, especially ...

Twospotted Spider Mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Arachnida: Acari: Tetranychidae)

open access: yesEDIS, 2003
The twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, has been controversial in its taxonomic placement. About 60 synonyms included under this species have compounded the controversy.

Methyl Jasmonate Seed Priming Mitigates the Defence‐Growth Trade‐Off and Tailors Plant Response to Specific Pests

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed defence priming is emerging as a novel, cost‐efficient and environmentally safe tool for pest management. It has been proposed as a means to uncouple the defence‐growth trade‐off in plants by enhancing defence responses with minimal fitness costs, but the mechanisms underlying this role remain elusive.

Mite populations on grapes: Effect of sulfur dust treatments on predatory mites and red spider mite

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1950
The annual rise and fall of populations of the Pacific mite—Tetranychus pacificus McG—and the Willamette mite— Tetranychus willamettei McG—on grapes has puzzled growers and entomologists for years.

Acaricidal activity of Annonaceae fractions against Tetranychus tumidus and Tetranychus urticae (Acari: Tetranychidae) and the metabolite profile of Duguetia lanceolata (Annonaceae) using GC-MS

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2015
Species of the Tetranychus genus feed on plant tissues, which reduces the rate of photosynthesis and can lead to the death of plant tissues. As a result, considerable production losses are caused by these arthropods.

Trade‐offs in thermal response: Schizotetranychus brevisetosus winter eggs outperform summer eggs at low temperatures

open access: yesPhysiological Entomology, EarlyView.
We investigated maternal effects in Schizotetranychus brevisetosus (Tetranychidae), where females oviposit summer and winter eggs in response to photoperiod on evergreen hosts. Developmental rates of immature individuals increased linearly from 15°C to 35°C, but winter and summer eggs developed faster at low and high temperatures, respectively ...
