Abstract Inland waters in Arctic landscapes act as conduits of terrestrial organic material, transporting and processing organic material into the greenhouse gases (GHGs) carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O), and subsequently exchanging these gases with the atmosphere.

Animals' performance of basic functional behaviours, such as foraging and movement, may improve with age as a result of past experiences. In migratory birds, for example, due to earlier or more efficient migration, older and likely more experienced individuals tend to arrive at breeding sites earlier and enjoy better breeding conditions than younger ...

Abstract In convergent high‐pressure settings dominated by dry mafic rocks, strain has been proposed to be predominantly localized in eclogite. However, the processes initiating strain localization, accommodating strain and rheological consequences remain to be identified.

Biological invasions and host–parasite coevolution: different coevolutionary trajectories along separate parasite invasion fronts [PDF]
Host–parasite coevolution has rarely been observed in natural systems. Its study often relies on microparasitic infections introducing a potential bias in the estimation of the evolutionary change of host and parasite traits.

Abstract The prevailing model in virtual 3D scenes is a 3D surface, which a texture is mapped onto, through a parameterization from the texture plane. We focus on accounting for the parameterization during the texture creation process, to control the deformations and remove the cuts induced by the mapping.
