Genome Wide Analyses Corroborate Cryptic Speciation in Anurida maritima (Collembola, Poduromorpha)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 54, Issue 5, Page 649-657, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Cryptic diversity is ubiquitous within Collembola (springtails). Numerous studies have reported substantial genetic divergence within morphological species. One potentially involved morphospecies is Anurida maritima (Guérin‐Méneville, 1836). A. maritima is confined to the intertidal zone, where it often occurs in high densities. A recent study

Fulmar Litter EcoQO Monitoring in the Netherlands 1979-2008 in relation to EU Directive 200/59/EC on Port Reception Facilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Operational and cargo related wastes from ships are an important source of litter in the marine environment in the southern North Sea and cause serious economical and ecological damage.

Late Holocene Human Impact on Tropical Soil Erosion in the Maritime Continent

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 15, 16 August 2025.
Abstract Human activities have profoundly modified the fluxes in the global sediment cycle. However, the anthropogenic forcing on soil erosion beyond instrumental records or historical documentation is largely unknown. Here we analyze markers for low‐intensity fires and soil erosion in East Java over the past 5,000 years.

Combined Effects of Experimental Acidification and Eutrophication on Reef Sponge Bioerosion Rates

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2017
Health of tropical coral reefs depends largely on the balance between constructive (calcification and cementation) and destructive forces (mechanical-chemical degradation).

Physical Characteristics of Raw Leathers in Texel and Charollais Ram Lambs

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2015
The objective of work was to evaluate effect of breed on basic physical characteristics of sheep leather. A total of 12 leathers of purebred Texel (n = 6) and Charollais (n = 6) lambs were included in the trial.

Non‐Invasive and Low‐Cost Approach for Estimating Sheep Weight Using Computer Vision

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2025.
Non‐invasive sheep weight estimation system using a Kinect V2 sensor, integrating EfficientNetB3 for frame selection, U‐Net for segmentation, and CNN‐based feature regression for weight prediction. The ensemble model achieved an RMSE of 3.43 kg and R 2 of 0.89, improving accuracy and reducing animal stress.

Livestock breeds and Organic farming systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Organic livestock farming has grown in Wales in recent years. It is focused on producing animals from a predominantly forage-based system, with an emphasis on maintaining animal health through improved welfare and a reduction in the use of routine ...

The p-torsion of curves with large p-rank [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Consider the locus of smooth curves of genus g and p-rank f defined over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic p. It is an open problem to classify which group schemes occur as the p-torsion of the Jacobians of these curves for f < g-1.
