THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXPOSURE TO TEXTISM AND SPELLING COMPETENCY

open access: yesLanguage Literacy: Journal of Linguistics, Literature, and Language Teaching
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between exposure to textism and spelling competency. A quasi-experimental research design was used to determine how the independent variable (exposure to textism) influenced the dependent ...

To text or not to text? Acceptability of WeChat and text messaging intervention to promote tobacco control assistance among parents who smoke in rural China

open access: yesTobacco Induced Diseases, 2019
Introduction Although the use of mobile health (mHealth) to promote tobacco control and smoking cessation interventions has been available in developed countries, their use in low- and middle-income countries (i.e. in China) is lacking.

Universally Accurate or Specifically Inadequate? Stress‐Testing General Purpose Machine Learning Interatomic Potentials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We investigate MACE‐MP‐0 and M3GNet, two general‐purpose machine learning potentials, in materials discovery and find that both generally yield reliable predictions. At the same time, both potentials show a bias towards overstabilizing high energy metastable states. We deduce a metric to quantify when these potentials are safe to use.

CrossMatAgent: AI‐Assisted Design of Manufacturable Metamaterial Patterns via Multi‐Agent Generative Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
CrossMatAgent is a multi‐agent framework that combines large language models and diffusion‐based generative AI to automate metamaterial design. By coordinating task‐specific agents—such as describer, architect, and builder—it transforms user‐provided image prompts into high‐fidelity, printable lattice patterns.

Accelerating Primary Screening of USP8 Inhibitors from Drug Repurposing Databases with Tree‐Based Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study introduces a tree‐based machine learning approach to accelerate USP8 inhibitor discovery. The best‐performing model identified 100 high‐confidence repurposable compounds, half already approved or in clinical trials, and uncovered novel scaffolds not previously studied. These findings offer a solid foundation for rapid experimental follow‐up,

FIRE‐GNN: Force‐Informed, Relaxed Equivariance Graph Neural Network for Rapid and Accurate Prediction of Surface Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study introduces FIRE‐GNN, a force‐informed, relaxed equivariant graph neural network for predicting surface work functions and cleavage energies from slab structures. By incorporating surface‐normal symmetry breaking and machine learning interatomic potential‐derived force information, the approach achieves state‐of‐the‐art accuracy and enables ...
