Logo antenna on textile materials

2014 44th European Microwave Conference, 2014
This paper presents a novel logo-shaped antenna. The proposed antenna has been fabricated by using a conductive non-woven textile on a layer of jeans. Experimental data referring to a prototype working at 1.8 GHz are presented and compared with numerical results. A relative bandwidth of about 70% and a dipole-like radiation pattern is demonstrated.

Wearable energy harvesting using wideband textile antennas

This paper presents an energy harvesting device for body centric sensor systems. The focus of collecting energy is put in the sensor far-field and in a large frequency bandwidth. The proposed device comprises of the logarithmic spiral textile antenna paired with a simple rectifier circuit.

Two possible ways to power the serial patch array will be presented. The antenna array is conceived as a multi-layered structure formed on a 3D textile substrate. The first concept – aperture coupled array – is unsuitable for use in close proximity to the electrically conductive shell of the aircraft.
