Flexible textile antenna array
2015 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology (EIT), 2015Flexible conductive textile material can make it possible to design flexible antennas that are wearable and nonintrusive to the user. It is this simplicity to the user that makes them suitable for applications such as health-monitoring systems. With the goal in mind of designing a wearable flexible antenna, a two element textile antenna array is ...

The increasing desire to internet the soldier on the battlefield requires a new approach to outfit the soldier with communications systems capable of operating in multiple frequency domains as shown in Table 1. Outfitting the soldier with multiple unwieldy antennas often results in the equipment being left behind, used improperly or broken.

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
A novel concept of transforming complex artistic geometries into antennas in the WLAN band is presented. These artitic antennas are designed to be part of the artistic geometry without any distortion of the original artistic look. Several antennas are designed in the WiFi band for several applications. Some antennas are embedded on the wearable dresses.

Proceedings of 2014 Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS2014), 2014
Two novel textile antennas are presented in this paper. The geometry of the two antennas has been shaped so to mimic the logo of two popular companies: the French clothing company LACOSTE and the American multinational corporation APPLE Inc. Two prototypes fabricated by using a conductive non-woven textile on a layer of jeans are presented.

Characterization of textile substrate to design a textile antenna
2013 International Conference on Microwave and Photonics (ICMAP), 2013The introduction of intelligent textile system to increase the wearer's level of protection has exposed the necessity of wearable communication tools and has led to research in textile antennas. So-called “wearable textile systems” are intended to improve the quality of life by enhancing the wearer's functionalities.

Geometric Challenges of Modelling Textile Antennas
2017 European Modelling Symposium (EMS), 2017The paper investigates the use of a space deformation technique for the 3D manipulation of textile antenna deformations. The results obtained using Green Coordinates for space deformations are compared against published results for antennas bent over a cylindrical surface. The method is also applied to model crumpling and twisting of textile antennas.

Textile Wearable Antenna for Firefighters Positioning
2019 URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC), 2019This paper presents a fully-textile wearable antenna for pinpointing the location of firefighters in emergency scenarios. The proposed antenna is an aperture coupled microstrip antenna which mimics the coat of arms of the fire brigade of Lecce (Italy).

Textile antennas: Shotgun proven performance
2011 - MILCOM 2011 Military Communications Conference, 2011Demanding operational environments, especially in combat situations, expose soldier's garment integrated textile antennas to potentially destructive conditions. Until now, the environmental testing of textile antennas has included experiments that do not affect the physical integrity.

Jeans Textile Antenna for Smart Wearable Antenna
2018 12th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE), 2018This paper proposes a design of a dual band textile wearable antenna with miniaturized structure. The textile wearable antenna is designed at ISM band(2.45GHz and 5.8GHz). Choose denim material and copper tape as antenna substrate and radiating element, respectively.
