Organically modified ceramics for coating textile materials

2007
Fabrics made of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and glass fibres were coated with different modified inorganic—organic hybrid polymers based on 3-glycidyloxpropyl trimethoxysilane. In the case of PET the focus was to affect the surface specific properties especially the hydrophobic, oleophobic and hydrophilic properties.

Integral Textile Ceramic Structures

Annual Review of Materials Research, 2008
A new paradigm for ceramic composite structural components enables functionality in heat exchange, transpiration, detailed shape, and thermal strain management that significantly exceeds the prior art. The paradigm is based on the use of three-dimensional fiber reinforcement that is tailored to the specific shape, stress, and thermal requirements of a

Ceramic membrane behavior in textile wastewater ultrafiltration

Desalination, 2010
Abstract Textile industries are rated as the most polluting among all industrial sectors taking into account both wastewater volume and composition. In order to be able to reuse these effluents, membrane technologies have been proven as a viable alternative.
