Textile effluent biodegradation potentials of textile effluent-adapted and non-adapted bacteria
2010Environmental pollution has been recognized as one of the major problems of the modern world. The increasing demand for water and the dwindling supply has made the treatment and reuse of industrialeffluents an attractive option. Textile effluents are of concern because they colour the drains and ultimately the water bodies. They also diminish the water

Electrochemical Treatment of Simulated Textile Effluent
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2001Electrooxidation of simulated Acid Blue 113 dye effluent has been carried out using a RuO 2 /Ti electrode. The influence of the initial concentration of dye, supporting electrolyte, current densities and pH on COD reduction has been critically studied.

Adsorbable organic halogens in textile effluents
Review of Progress in Coloration and Related Topics, 1992In recent years legislation on environmental pollution has become more and more stringent. The parameter AOX (adsorbable organic halogen) was developed for the detection of organohalogens in drinking water and effluents. In this paper restrictions on the discharge of various chemicals into waste water are reviewed.

Purification of Textile Dyehouse Effluents
2004Textile industry is great consumer of water and producer of high amounts of effluents. Dyehouse effluents tend to be significant source of pollution due to numerous compounds being present in dyebaths together with dyes. Increasingly stringent environmental regulations impose new requests to textile industry.
