Hybrid Auxetic Architectures: Integrating Curvature‐Driven Design for Enhanced Mechanical Tunability and Structural Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Women, Sheep, and Textiles: The social significance of ram’s head beads in Early Iron Age Slovenia

open access: yesArheološki Vestnik, 2021
Ram’s head beads are well-known items of personal adornment in the Dolenjska Hallstatt cultural group. Recent analysis has demonstrated that they are the most common zoomorphic artefacts in this region with 187 currently known.

Folded, layered textiles from a Bronze Age pit pyre excavated from Over Barrow 2, Cambridgeshire, England. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The textiles from Over Barrow, Cambridgeshire, England present the opportunity to examine the burial practices at the end of the Early Bronze Age. They were excavated from a pit pyre cremation along with cremated bone, a bone needle/pin and two small ...

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

The influence of textiles on Corona discharge created around a human fingertip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A corona discharge is a visible, electrical discharge observed in gases, which occurs on the surface of charged conductors. In our research, the discharges were generated around human fingertips and recorded in the form of films during the test while a ...

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...
